Throughout his 9-yr profession within the Navy, Robert worked as a diesel engine mechanic, lead instructor, and upkeep manager which result in careers in services management and educational design in his civilian life. Robert felt that his true ardour was in instructional improvement and design, an industry he was fortunately employed in when circumstances led to his layoff. However, Robert was conscious of the sources out there to him, so he went to National Able Network’s Workforce Center and attended Job Ready Boot Camp, a workshop particularly for veterans, and also enrolled within the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. “The Job Ready Boot Camp was useful,” says Robert. During his time at National Able Network, Robert worked with profession coach Tammi Smi th. He says, “She’s a vet as well, so she had a very nice perception into my experiences, and helped me translate a lot of that into job search.” Determined to continue to work on his job search skills, Robert participated in lots of other workshops obtainable to him, but famous that the resume workshop was most useful. Robert attended that workshop 3 times! He says, “I all the time discovered one thing new.” As he was job looking out and considering of his prior work experiences, Robert felt that he had studying principle down pat, however that he could excellent his skillset by dominating graphic design. This insight led to Robert pursuing the Certified Technical Training program. While Robert completed his coaching, he was actively job looking for on LinkedIn. Robert efficiently completed the program and was employed! He is currently employed as an Instructional Developer at Sonalysts, Inc. â€" which occurs to have many contracts with the U.S. Navy! It seems that Robert has come full circle, armed with even more expertise! “National Able Network really helped me get the skills I wanted to be marketable within the field I needed to be in,” says Robert.
